Dublin trio whenyoung are gracing the new year with their new track ‘Never Let Go’, an indie-rock meets dream-pop head-bop of a song. After bursting onto the music scene back in the summer of 2017, singer/bassist Aoife Power, guitarist Niall Burns, and drummer Andrew Flood have crafted a sound that slides perfectly into the realms of alternative music. ‘Never Let Go’, combines slick guitar riffs with heavy drum beats right from the get-go, all overlaid with Power’s dreamy vocals echoing throughout the song.
Each verse has an element of airiness, a sense of floating perhaps, a sound that builds in both speed and depth through the bridge and chorus. Here is a perfect place to really catch those quick but strong guitar riffs and drum beats. Alternative rock with a slight electronic twist, whenyoung have given us what is hopefully the first of a string of bangers we can expect from them in 2019.
