Review | Angelina Luzi – Untold

By Josh Abraham

The new album from Angelina Luzi is made up of ten tracks which ooze creativity. Untold is beautiful and emotional, a way to heal the mind, as well as the body. Luzi’s debut album mixes alt-pop and folktronica, which helps create a sound which is entirely her own.

The emotional storytelling in this album brings a much harsher reality in comparison to the bright production. ‘Let It Go’ and ‘Lana Rossa’ use cinematic soundscapes to transport listeners to a new world; and these new worlds sometimes mean listening to Angelina Luzi’s traumatic events.

That is the beauty of Untold’. It captures the harsh reality of this life with a newfound confidence, talking about losing her voice, mental health, and so much more. Difficult subjects are effectively backed by the singer-songwriter’s ethereal vocals.

The album is a unique sonic experience for those who are listening for the first time. It allows a fresh look at the life of working as a solo artist, as well as having the courage to experiment with new, fresh sounds.
