London punk trio Alien Chicks announce debut EP ‘Indulging The Mobs’ and drop new single ‘Steve Buscemi’

Having just supported English Teacher on their UK tour, Brixton trio Alien Chicks are back today to announce their debut EP ‘Indulging The Mobs’, out on 18th July via Hideous Mink Records.

Alongside the announcement, the band have dropped ‘Steve Buscemi’, an angry, noisy and satirical jab at everyday frustrations. As has come to be expected from Alien Chicks, the group have shaken up their sound again, moving from the edgy, frantic post-punk of previous track ‘Candlestick Maker’ to punk rap here.

Frontman Josef’s delivery is fiery, effortlessly stepping from sassily rapped verses to intense, shouted choruses. The intensity builds and builds as the pace increases rapidly, with the instrumental becoming more and more chaotic.

The guitar lines are simple but heavily distorted, with manic solos and chugging rhythm guitar that ramps up the pace masterfully; Josef’s vocals become swarmed by the chaos around them. Horns blast in the final section, adding to the wonderful mess, before it all comes crashing down.

With 6 singles now under their belt, Alien Chicks are firmly on the list of the most exciting punk acts coming out of London right now. With many festival appearances coming up (below), their chaotic energy is something to be witnessed live.
