Antony Szmierek establishes himself as a late-night dancefloor staple with new single ‘Chalk’, alongside announcing his sophomore album ‘Decoding Birdsong’.

Manchester-born poet, writer, and producer Antony Szmierek, a CLUNK Magazine favourite, has announced his second album, ‘Decoding Birdsong’, arriving Friday 21 August.

Alongside the news, Antony Szmierek shares new single ‘Chalk’, an expansive electro track inspired by the snooker documentary Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge of Everything.

‘Chalk’ marks a clear progression for Szmierek, with a thundering synth bassline carrying a groove fit for intoxicating 2am dancefloors. Much like Ronnie ‘The Rocket’ O’Sullivan, Antony Szmierek leans back and offers an effortlessly smooth performance, his kinetic energy soaking into revolving basslines that soon leave the listener in a trance-like state.

Chatting about the peculiar influence, Szmierek states: “It’s about the idea that chalking a cue makes a marginal difference to the outcome, a metaphor for chaos theory and the win-or-lose nature of the music industry.

With ‘Chalk’ and ‘The Heron’ already promising an immersive experience and a wider scope, we can’t wait to hear what Antony Szmierek has to offer on the full ‘Decoding Birdsong’ release.
