Did a sports journalism degree, write about music instead. Used to sing, now you can find me either at a gig or in the pub in the centre of the universe – Leeds.
Brodie Milner’s latest track ‘Drinking Martinis in the Olive Gardens of Gethsemane‘ is brimming with ultramodern lyrics and northern charm
With his first release since 2023, East Riding songsmith, Brodie Milner unleashes a refreshing sense of gritty northern charm mixed with his own unique brand of quirky lyricism.
A mouthful title, ‘Drinking Martinis in the Olive Gardens of Gethsemane’, Milner’s ultramodern lyrics make for the perfect blend with the track’s atmospheric guitar sound.
Lauded by BBC Radio 6 and Introducing, Brodie’s unique style makes for a brilliant listen. The Hull man’s indie rock ‘n’ roll influences shine through brightly on what is a seriously impressive guitar-driven track, but it really is the young star’s lyricism that stands out.
‘I ask myself every day/What would Kendrick want to say?’ chirps Milner, vividly modern lyrics on a track so well written you’d think it’s wordsmith had been in the game forever.
Ending the year with high-profile support slots, solo shows and big name festivals such as Live at Leeds in the City – I certainly don’t think this is the last time we’ll be singing this man’s praises.
