Cut Copy’s latest single ‘Still See Love‘ fuses disco & dub ahead of their new album ‘Moments‘ releasing September 5th
Australian synth-pop band Cut Copy continue to impress with their new single ‘Still See Love’, in anticipation of their new album ‘Moments’. Taking inspiration from artists such as Francois K and ESG, the single is driven with an instantly catchy disco-dub hybrid bassline that will be an instant hit with gig-goers. Complimented by delicate and precise synthesizers it manages to make the listener euphoric and melancholic simultaneously.
This pessimism is intentional, with the repeated chorus refrain “I still see love in your heart, no matter what you do, even when I’m alone” further emphasising Cut Copy’s intent. Songwriter Dan Whitford explains further “Still See Love was a tune that came together pretty quickly, written about a couple clinging to what’s left of a relationship as it slowly capsizes.” This maturity has influenced the upcoming record, in the 5 years since the last album “I had a child, people around me fell in and out of relationships, the world went through a global pandemic and there has been a myriad of social and political upheaval. So I guess there’s been a fair bit on my mind.” says Whitford. With this in mind, ‘Still See Love’ recalls the best of 00s indie dance cut with the more sombre tone of 2025.
‘Moments’ is set for release on September 5th via Cutter Records / The Orchard.
‘Still See Love’ and previous singles ‘Solid’ and ‘When This is Over’ are available to buy or stream now.
