Scouse four-piece Monks capture urgency and surrrealism with latest single ‘life moves fast’, a track that fuses pop, techno and rock

life moves fast’ is the latest offering from Monks, the Scouse four-piece with an expertise in electronic music fused with elements of dance, techno, rock and pop music. The band shared that the new song “captures the urgency and surrealism of time slipping through your fingers”, with lyrics touching on themes of existentialism and community against a groovy drum track.

Gradually opening into a steady beat and synth, the single’s chorus momentarily slows down to let you ponder the sentiment of fleeting time – quickly working itself back up into its pulsing sound. Recorded earlier this year in Paris, ‘life moves fast’ is the culmination of the band injecting their techno and dance influences into the sound of their previous dreamy-indie rock work.

The new single neatly sets up a new chapter for the band in 2026, with the track preceding a handful of year-end shows in London, Manchester, and Liverpool this month.
