Bristol’s Hypothetics announce their debut album, ‘The Crossing,’ and drop new single ‘Solstice’
Following last year’s debut EP, ‘GETS LET DOWN,’ Bristol’s Hypothetics have today announced the exciting news of their debut album ‘The Crossing,’ out on 28th February 2025.
While recording their debut LP, the band have been busy, with a headline tour in May and supporting several acts including Heavy Lungs and Hotel Lux. This month, they will also be heading to the Netherlands with gigs in Groningen and Rotterdam for Left Of The Dial Festival, before heading back to the UK for several dates (below).
Their lead single ‘Solstice‘ sees their sound stripped back and slowed down to create a foreboding atmosphere and intriguing new direction. The track is an exciting mix of textures, with calm folk vocals sitting atop moody but lively rock instrumentation. The drums drive the track, while the guitars play several versatile roles, acoustic arpeggios layering upon electric wails to bring together the eerie soundscape.
The lyrics match the more thoughtful instrumentation, taking on a folktale quality and exploring natural and poetic imagery. “Here falls lustre on the ground, bathe us in a field fruitful, blessed the glow” sings the chorus.
