I’m Evan, a 19 year old concert photographer based and raised in Glasgow. Being from Glasgow, I’ve always been around music from a young age, either going to concerts with my parents as young as 5 or playing a variety of instruments throughout my childhood. Photography has also been a passion for many years and to combine both together and music has been nothing but great.

Sienna Spiro mesmerises Glasgow O2 Academy crowd, solidifying herself as one of the most promising new voices in pop

Sienna Spiro’s Glasgow show at the O2 Academy Glasgow was a really solid night. With one of those voices that sounds just as good live as it does on recordings, maybe even better, the crowd were into Spiro from the start. With a great stage up and full band, the anticipation was high, while the performance remained quite intimate.

Sienna came across really naturally, taking time to appreciate the fans and even make sure the Glasgow crowd was looking after themselves after a few issues in the crowd. The set didn’t feel overly polished, just confident, with Spiro clearly enjoying herself.

The quieter songs had everyone properly listening, including the special treat of 2 unreleased songs. Due to the gentleness of these quieter moments, the bigger moments hit even harder. Spiro’s vocals were the standout of the whole night, especially on the more stripped-back tracks, with nothing but her vocals and the piano.

Sienna’s Glasgow performance was one of those gigs where you leave thinking you’ve caught someone just before they get much bigger. Glasgow crowds can be hard to win over sometimes, but she had the room before she even came on.
