Skepta brings his curated, independent music event ‘Big Smoke Festival’ to Crystal Palace Park on 6th July 2024
As more festivals and tours are gearing up for the summer of 2024, award winning MC and producer Skepta is now hosting a show you won’t want to miss. The influential Mercury Prize winner will curate two stages for a one-day event at Crystal Palace – London’s original outdoor concert venue. Skepta’s ‘Big Smoke Festival’ hosts a multi-genre, star studded lineup of global artists alongside, of course, his own set.
Making the announcement on his impromptu Instagram Live, he said: “I’m gassed to finally announce that Big Smoke Festival is official..I’m so excited, it’s been a wild one to do this. I just want to say thank you to all the supporters, it’s been a couple years that you didn’t see me on a stage..I know a lot of people have been wondering when they’ll see Skepta at a festival and I really wanted to save all that energy and put it into something that was for us, by us.“
Firmly rooted in the values of the UK’s music scene, Skepta unveiled his new label Más Tiempo in August last year and collectively it helped to amplify the UK’s thriving house music scene, taking it to new heights. This, combined with their already sold out warehouse venue Drumsheds and Skepta’s return to rap with his project ‘48 Hours‘, will make for an unforgettable event.
Big Smoke Festival will be taking place on Saturday 6th July and will be the only opportunity to see Skepta perform in the UK next year. Crystal Palace has hosted previous performers including Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and now joining them is the British grime scene’s very own legend, Skepta.
