A Popular Music (Falmouth University) graduate currently based just outside of Bristol. A voracious reader, meticulous Letterboxd reviewer and lover of all things music. Consistently championing often ignored upcoming artists from Cornwall and the South West music scene to show what amazing talent can be found outside of the big cities!
The end of January saw the wickedly talented Sekou debut on a French stage, where he showed the Taratata audience the talent he possesses. Later on he took to Bush Hall and performed his 2025 single, ‘Catching Bodies‘.
Outlined by flashing strobes, the opening build of the song, combined Sekou’s angular poses and rhythmic movements are so seamless, it’s as if he was born into the pocket.
At just 22, Sekou is one to watch and both these performances solidify that. He commands the stage, stepping in front of the microphone stand, performing and dancing freely for all to see, he is refreshing and destined for bigger stages.
