Cubzoa captures the soft haziness of summer in new single ‘Choke’ ahead of debut album ‘Unfold In The Sky’ releasing October 24th
“In this chapter I strove for honesty,” Jack Wolter says of his latest release. From playing in Penelope Isles alongside his sister to touring with CMAT as her guitarist, Wolter is now embracing a solo musical venture under the moniker Cubzoa. His debut album ‘Unfold In The Sky’ is due out on October 24 via Bella Union. Its lead single ‘Choke’ delivers a slick, sunny dose of dream-pop straight from England’s South Coast.
Sonically, shimmering guitars and tinges of psychedelic synth capture the soft haziness of summer, while Wolter’s lyrics are more heavy-hitting as he processes the end of a ten-year relationship. It is this delicate balance of light and dark that makes ‘Choke’ such a charming track, pulling listeners in with both warmth and candour and inviting us to stick around for the rest of the album.
Fresh off Glastonbury’s famed Pyramid Stage with CMAT, Wolter will close out the festival season with performances at End of the Road and SWN. He then joins Billy Nomates on her European tour before ending the year with three headline shows in Falmouth, London, and Brighton.
