The Lemon Twigs release new single ‘2 or 3‘, a woozy, bouncy trip down memory lane, along with the announcement of upcoming album ‘Look For Your Mind!‘
The Lemon Twigs, the project of Long Island, NY brothers Michael and Brian DโAddario, have shared โ2 or 3โ, the latest single from their recently announced album, โLook For Your Mind!โ, due May 8th.
Open up the record player, spin โ2 or 3โ and ask your friends if itโs a 60s pop track. Iโd bet youโd trick a good number of them into thinking they were listening to The Monkees or another 60s staple.
The single continues to develop the bandโs nostalgic sound, casting a dreamy trip with its floating flute melodies, blending beautifully with harmonies that would make The Beach Boys stop and listen.
Itโs fun, whimsical and a perfect companion to the spring time blossoms that are beginning to appear.
On the bouncy pop number, Brian says โwe played for the first time in Buenos Aires last year and I woke up the next morning having dreamt the chorus. Itโs a rare thing for me and even rarer that I end up remembering the words. I had to interpret what โsheโs lived 2 or 3 as many lives as meโ meant. It made me think of a guy who wasnโt cultured or worldly enough for his girlfriend and had to pretend to be interested in fine art and history.โ
Underneath its poppy exterior, โLook For Your Mind!โ contains an undercurrent of paranoia and suspicion. โI do think that now is a time of insanity. You really have to hold onto your own mind if you donโt wanna lose it,โ says Brian.
