Leeds band Eades announce second album ‘Final Sirens Call’ with new single ‘Did You Read The News?’
Since 2022, Leeds-based rock band Eades have been impressing listeners with their surf-infused “dad rock” sound. Today, the band have released new track ‘Did You Read The News?’, along with promises of a new era for the group.
With a much more introspective, honest tone than some of their previous more upbeat, post-punk releases, ‘Did You Read The News?’ feels authentic and real. It demonstrates a real shift from their earlier work, but whilst still maintaining the energetic sound that they had mastered so well previously.
The single’s lyricist Tom O’Reilly described the song as being “about living on autopilot, floating through the day to day of life without letting the constantly changing world have a significant impact.”
Building on their 2024 EP ‘Fight or Flight’, Eades hope to display their development as a band through this record, with vocalist Harry Jordan saying that “We’ve grown as people as well as a band and we feel much more assured on who we are and what we are trying to create.”
‘Did You Read The News?’ is just a taste of Eades‘ vision for their upcoming music. It will in fact be the first single of the band’s second studio album, ‘Final Sirens Call‘, which is set to be released on September 18th via Breakfast Records.
