One of the South West’s hidden gems, Field View is one of many grassroots festivals at risk of shutting down – here’s why you should get a ticket
We’re extremely lucky to live in the UK with so many small festivals on offer every year, showcasing the huge amount of new music around the country. But, as we’re all far too aware, it is a highly difficult time for grassroots venues and festivals, with many having to close their doors every year.
One hidden gem we discovered last year was Field View Festival. Having been revived after a short time away, the festival was everything that’s great about grassroots – a small site, local music, delicious food and a lovely community feel.
This year, with a bigger lineup, the festival looks to be even better. But, Field View needs your help. While many of us might like to live life on the edge, leaving buying tickets to the last minute, this creates an impossible situation for small festivals. Because of this, Field View have set their fans a limit: buy your tickets by June 18th. If they sell their designated amount, the festival will happen; if they don’t, it unfortunately won’t.
So, as supporters of all things independent and grassroots and with first hand experience of this lovely event, all of us at CLUNK want to urge you to check out Field View Festival. Headlining this year is festival favourite K.O.G. K.O.G. really is everything you could want from a festival act: incredibly groovy, impossibly tight and always soulful. Jumping from jazz to soul to hip-hop to everything in between, you really couldn’t ask for more.
If you like things a bit noisier, you might fancy checking out Plantoid, one of our favourite new discoveries this year. Having blown us away at Outer Town and Wanderfal, Plantoid’s blend of punk and prog is so fresh, powering through massive riffs effortlessly and having the best time doing it. Or, maybe RIZTS is more your cup of tea, with their heavy hardcore sound and mix of about 1,000s genres within each track.
Elsewhere, we plan to drift away with two of the UK’s most exciting jazz projects, Webmoms and Ishmael Ensemble, ahead of their set at Forwards 2025. Bristol’s Factor 50 are returning to show off their set of indie rock bangers and emotional art rock climaxes, while Nxaxncy will surely get us all a bit emotional with her gorgeous and fragile indie folk.
This is just a taste of what Field View Festival will bring in 2025. With such a varied and exciting lineup, the festival looks to be one of the best of the summer. We can’t wait to see you all in the fields and we urge you to grab yourself a ticket by 18th June.
Field View Festival will take place from 31st July – 3rd August. BUY TICKETS HERE. Get 10% off with the code: SMALLBUTMIGHTY.
