London’s Leo Walrus comes through with emotively juxtaposed new single ‘Matthew’s Line’

London is a hotbed for musical talent with people travelling from all over the world to inhabit the iconic city. Some travel far, others not so much. This is where we meet Southend born artist Leo Walrus who now calls South-East London home. For the past decade Leo has been harnessing his sound and audience across the city, playing in venues such as The Troubadour, Cavendish Arms, The Old Blue Last, and Paper Dress Vintage. All hot beds for the cities talent and has aided in Leo Walrus becoming a regular face within the London music scene.

So far, 2026 has been a busy year for the artist as he gears up to release his sophomore album ‘Moontime’, so far we have had three offerings from the release but today we want to talk about the fourth single ‘Matthew’s Line’. A rambling psych-rock number with tinges of psych-rock thrown in for good measure. Leo’s soft vocals surround the listener like a velvet rug, bringing forward a sense of tranquility. Yet, throughout the lyrics and musical composition there is a darkness lurking beneath the surface. It’s a tantalising listen that boasts Leo’s songwriting ability.

Speaking on the track Leo explains: “The dynamic, changeable arrangement tells just as much of a story as the tumultuous-yet-conversational lyrics.”
