The team behind Bristol’s FORWARDS festival has announced a star-studded lineup for its new outdoor gig event

Taking place the night before FORWARDS Festival on Clifton Downs, the bill spotlights a debut appearance in Bristol from pop giant Lorde on Friday 28th August. The New Zealand star, whose 2025 album ‘Virgin’ was widely revered, is currently on her Ultrasound world tour and is only set to play arena shows in the UK.

Tom Paine, co-founder of the festival’s organisers Team Love, said: “Announcing Lorde is an incredibly exciting moment for us. Building on the spirit of FORWARDS, we’re excited to bring Bristol another world-class musician and experience across the bank holiday weekend.

“Welcoming Lorde to the city feels like the perfect way to begin, she’s an extraordinary artist, and this promises to be a truly special night for Bristol.”

Also headlining the night is Djo, the musical project of Stranger Things actor Joe Keery. Everyone’s favourite Demogorgon-hunter-turned-music-sensation, the star will head to Bristol with his well-loved psychedelic indie-pop tracks.

Rounding up the lineup is American singer-songwriter Audrey Hobert, who gained popularity for collaborating on the hit single ‘That’s So True’ with Gracie Abrams; indie songwriters Esha Tewari and Rose Gray; and Bristol’s own producer and performer Grove.

Catch Lorde play her debut Bristol show on Friday 28th August 2026. Tickets available here.
