‘Figment’ is a powerful introduction to MELTS’ new album’ Field Theory’, set for release on 12th April via Fuzz Club Records

MELTS have announced the release of their second album ‘Field Theory’ in preparation for a UK/EU tour starting in April. True to their in-your-face debut album ‘Maelstrom’, the first single Figment‘ demonstrates the volcano of sound they’ve woven together as a psych-rock, post-punk Dublin four-piece.

The track brings the big reverb you’d expect from MELTS; the drums drive and lock into the synth as the instrumentals build up to a burning explosion of rhythmic fusion. Vocalist Eoin Kenny’s resonant vocals carry the lyrics, interlaced with the psychedelic backdrop that drips into your mind, tunnelling multifaceted shades of light.

The rolling guitar accents pull it together, showcasing their ability to balance each instrument and bring each of them centre stage. The crescendo takes you running through the seasons barefoot whilst crashing over rocks and dodging stampedes of ligers.
