New Jersey’s Royal Blush come through with their striking new single ‘Ur Cure’ ahead of summer EP release
Royal Blush come cascading out of New Jersey with their latest single ‘Ur Cure’, an alt-rock/grunge ballad that is reminiscent of the late 90’s and early 2000’s rock sound. The band formed back in 2021 by guitarist Andrew Merclean who was then joined by midwest-born vocalist Allison Heckart, Polish American producer/guitarist Patryk Sikorski, and Long Islander John Carbone on drums.
The latest single boasts the bands ability to surround their sound in nostalgia yet still remains attainable to a new and fresh audience. It’s a tough thing to balance that can leave some bands sounding like a tribute band, but not with Royal Blush. The track opens with a soft and subtle guitar that drifts along and gives space for the serenading vocals of Allison Heckart. It’s a relatable track that delves into the frustration of being in a toxic relationship, one that is perhaps not healthy for either party as Heckart belts out towards the end of the track “You’re sick and I was just your cure.”
