L.A based artist Tess Clare shares her latest indie-pop single ‘Never Be A Boy’, a personal and heartfelt release from the artist
L.A is home to many an artist all striving to get their voices heard but there are few who have gripped us as much as Tess Clare. The indie-pop artist takes the listener on a beautiful journey of through relationships, self-exploration, and the waves of joy and anxiety that are integral to coming of age. Her latest single ‘Never Be A Boy’ is a shining example of her heartfelt songwriting that invites the listener into her world whilst still maintaining a strong sense of relatability.
‘Never Be A Boy’ opens with the sweet sounds of Tess’ vocals whilst the guitar and keys subtly join and creating momentum towards the wildly infectious chorus. It’s a pure pop song that is destined to be heard on the airwaves at every corner. Not only is it daringly infectious, the theme is one of discovery, telling the story of Tess coming to terms with her sexuality and queerness. It’s an ode to the complex thoughts and feelings Tess grappled with about her best friend from teen years. Although this track is deeply personal and Tess’ story, it is one shared by many, making for an extremely relatable listen.
