Adam Hopper & The Wimps announce debut EP with new single ‘My Friend Al,’ proving just how much the Manchester scene is thriving

Today, Adam Hopper & The Wimps share news of debut EP ‘Remember To Have Fun,’ out on 9th May via Bingo Records.

Lead single โ€˜My Friend AIโ€™ shows that the band’s anti-folk-tinged indie music is what can bring people together. Showing the reality of life, ‘My Friend AIโ€™ is a very special track. With nostalgia-based music at the heart of everything they do, Adam Hopper & The Wimps provide honest rollercoasters in the lyricism, as well as a bit of spirit from their upcoming EP in this new release.

Talking about the track, lead singer Adam explains โ€œFrom the years 2007 – 2010 my friends and I spent every single Saturday meeting at the Blockbuster Videos in Great Driffield on the corner of George Street and Middle Street South at 11am/12pm.

We would spend a while looking at the computer games, then go to Cooplands bakery for 4 sausage rolls. After this, we would go back to mine and play Halo 3 for at least 5 hours. My Friend Al is a dedication to that time and my friend Alex.โ€
