bdrmm turn to dance music on ‘John on the Ceiling,’ the lead single from their third album ‘Microtonic,’ out on 28th February
The re-invention of your typical sound as a band is often challenging to pull off. However, with their new single ‘John on the Ceiling’, bdrmm have shifted to a pulsating kind of dance music, not so similar to their typical sound, but still brilliantly pulled off as expected.
‘John on the Ceiling’ feeds a sound which fills your mind with a whole nightscape built by the constant ambience that flows through the song. This probably isn’t what most expected when tuning in to this new single, however, it has done nothing but build up hype for upcoming album ‘Microtonic’ which is set to be released on February 28th.
With the combination of an upcoming third album paired with a tour of the UK and Europe next March, it is safe to say it’s going to be an exciting 2025 for the band. This is by no means signalling a farewell to the band’s trademark, guitar-heavy ways, but more an evolution of it. Nobody wants to repeat the same formulas for every album and the evolution shown here signals that bdrmm have no intention of slowing down on their path to glory.
‘Microtonic’ is out on 28th February via Rock Action.
