Beach Bunny return with new single ‘Entropy’, taken from upcoming sophomore album ‘Emotional Creature’ and announce Lili Trifilio solo show in London next week
Beach Bunny, the musical project of Lili Trifilio, has released her latest single, an indie-pop anthem titled ‘Entropy’. The single will appear on the project’s highly anticipated sophomore album, ‘Emotional Creature’, which will release on 22nd July via Mom+Pop. Previous singles ‘Karaoke’, ‘Fire Escape’ and ‘Oxygen’ will also appear on the album alongside ‘Entropy’. The album was produced by Sean O’Keefe (Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack).
‘Entropy’ was released alongside a music video, which depicts Trifilio and the band in space. This follows on from their previous music videos that have been released throughout the rollout of ‘Emotional Creature’, where the band embarked on a “Star Wars meets Star Trek” galactic adventure, a concept that is also depicted in the beautiful digitally-depicted cover art for the album.
‘Entropy’ channels the energy of post-Y2K pop icons like Kelly Clarkson and the Jonas Brothers, an era which is a huge self-proclaimed musical influence for Trifilio. The track’s chorus fuses the punky, explosive and defiant attitude of music from the early 2000s with the popular aspects of this era that are remerging in the music of today, borrowing influences taken from the past and combining them with current trends to speak loudly to the generation of today.
Next week, Trifilio will be performing a one-off solo show in London, at Camden Assembly. Later this year, she will be joined with her bandmates, Matt Henkels [guitar], Anthony Vaccaro [bass], and Jon Alvarado [drums], for a full UK tour throughout November, with dates in London, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast, Dublin and Glasgow.
