Boardmasters officially takes over the Fistral Beach Bar in Newquay, Cornwall and announces the return of the skate ramp to Fistral
Boardmasters has come bearing gifts! Not only is the festival shaping up to be their most ambitious and best yet, they’ve just announced that the infamous Fistral Beach Bar, is now the Boardmasters Beach Bar. This allows the festival to expand what’s on offer at Boardmasters 2025 (and beyond). For those that have visited the Fistral Beach Bar in the past, you know that it offers glorious views of the golden coastline, a perfect spot to watch the surf, and a sun trap like no other in Newquay. Now, you will have all of this but with a team dedicated to hosting events and more. It’s an incredibly exciting expansion and one that will not only benefit the festival, but the town as a whole.
In addition to this, the festival has also announced that it will be bringing back it’s infamous skate ramp. For years, Fistral Beach, which hosts the surf competition also had a skate ramp located in ‘The Village’, where the best skate talent would show their flair and skill. This now returns in 2025.
Speaking on the above Andrew Topham, Boardmasters Founder and CEO said,ย โIt goes without saying, we are incredibly excited to announce the latest developments at Fistral Beach. This is the place where the festival was born, and where many early memories and epic moments from the Boardmasters surf competitions were made. I know I speak on behalf of the entire team when I say this site is very close to our hearts, and the collective passion of our team is what has brought this latest vision to life. Even more action packed sports during the festival, opportunities for meaningful partnerships which benefit the entire surf ecosystem, and of course the newly named Boardmasters Beach Bar, which weโll have more to tell you about very soon.โ
Fistral Beach remains free to attend for everyone; a must-attend to soak up the rich heritage that Boardmasters has fostered on the Cornish coast since 1981.
