Indie pop trio release shimmering end of summer single along with a 2025 U.K headline tour announcement

Macclesfield’s own Cassia are heralding a new era in their musical journey with a new single entitled ‘heat’, a dreamy and melodic summer indie pop song. Their music video was shot in Marrakech, and its stylistic intentions leave you with the feeling that you have witnessed Cassia reinventing their look and showcasing a new sound to propel them further on their musical evolution.

Cassia in recent years have crafted a sound that is recognisable, familiar, yet fresh, something that was solidified by their debut album‘Replica’. They have a sound that is reminiscent of a perfect combination of Vampire Weekend and Viola Beach. However, their latest offering, ‘heat’, offers something completely new to fans, old and new.

There is a clear Afrobeat influence on this track and shows Cassia stepping out of their comfort zone, something that should be celebrated. Although Cassia had clearly already began to shift their sound with the release of their second album ‘Why You Lacking Energy?’, ‘heat’ can be seen as a step forward in lyrical perspectives put forward by Lead Vocalist Rob Ellis.

“The moment that you realise that the modern age has crept up on you too quickly is a scary thing. At the time of writing ‘Heat’, I felt I was constantly having to adjust my mindset to adapt to a modern way of living, with a constant stream of information that is perfectly tailored to each of our tastes via social media.“

Clearly Cassia mean business with this new single. They will be backed well by the cult fanbase they have amassed through their career, that have always listened with keen ears during Cassia’s moments of musical exploration. This will help them perhaps more than anything in verifying their success with ‘heat’.

Regardless, if you haven’t cared to listen to this tune yet, you most certainly should give it a spin. Perhaps Cassia can help you relive summer once more before the cold really sets in!
