Classic Trucks, the new project from Langkamer’s Joshua Jarman, drops debut single ‘Letting In Too Much Light’

Letting In Too Much Light is the debut single from new project Classic Trucks, brought to us by Joshua Jarman, of Langkamer fame. The project started as a musical exploration of a drummer learning guitar, but thankfully retains the soothing gentle vocals developed in Langkamer.

In this single Jarmanโ€™s lyrics contain themes of anxiety and vulnerability, while exploring these ideas with the tact and sensitivity that comes from a true talent in songwriting. Instrumentally, the song begins with a folk guitar and follows up with a minimalist attitude; a tribute to inspirations such as Neutral Milk Hotel, Bill Callahan, Songs: Ohia and Sparklehorse.

Culminating in a soft crescendo, the inclusion of lo-fi horns adds a charming touch of eloquence to an already very mature and carefully put together track. Hitting the ground running, Classic Trucks is off to a fantastic start and is certainly one to look out for, or more realistically cry along to, in the future.
