Did a sports journalism degree, write about music instead. Used to sing, now you can find me either at a gig or in the pub in the centre of the universe – Leeds.
Midlands grit and a country twang unite here on the new single ‘Sahara Sun’ by already acclaimed indie-folk artist Dom Malin.
The first taste of new music from Malin since last summer, ‘Sahara Sun’ sees the songwriter’s signature blend of indie-rock and a folky backdrop taken to new heights on what is a lovely track.
Wise beyond his years, Malin has been crafting music with his trusty guitar since he was a pre-teen. Championed by BBC Introducing, journeying from busking in Birmingham and Bristol to huge supports with Paris Paloma and Dermot Kennedy.
‘Sahara Sun’ is the coming-of-age of Malin’s Americana-inspired country-folk roots as it merges with his new-age, broader indie-rock sound.
Packed with nineties nostalgia, huge guitar noise and a warm, heartfelt vocal – ‘Sahara Sun’ is the whole package.
A strummy summer jam, this tune sets up a huge feeling of excitement and anticipation for Malin’s upcoming debut EP, ‘Echoes of Light’.
