kisses’ latest track ‘Queen of The Suburbs’ is a fluid & thoughtful entry ahead of a new album dropping in 2026.

Melbourne-based Australian band kisses have released their latest single, ‘Queen of the Suburbs’, a slow-burning track that leans into restraint and atmosphere. Built around a steady, unhurried tempo, the song moves with fluidity, carrying you forward without ever needing to rush.

The arrangement is stripped back but thoughtful. The guitar gives the track a warm, lived-in quality. Nothing feels overworked. The lyrics are gentle and light, offering comfort without spelling it out and allowing the listener to meet the song where they are.

The subtle delays amongst the vocals create an echo of distance that sits neatly alongside the acoustics. They drift rather than dominate, reinforcing the song’s calm presence. Throughout the track, snippets of city buzz add depth and form multiple soundscapes that contribute to the song’s texture.

Something is reassuring about this release. It feels like a grounded, comforting friend, offering a handhold or a slight nudge forward when things feel heavy. Beautiful in its simplicity, this song provides a welcome contrast for moments when we just need to be held and lifted.

kisses are currently touring Japan, and an album is due in early 2026 with Bedroom Suck Records.
