Aimee Fatale’s latest single is hypnotising as she invites the listener back in to her vintage glamour world.
After the success of debut EP, ‘A Modern Girl’, Hull-based singer-songwriter Aimee Fatale releases the hypnotising ‘Summertime Ain’t Easy’ – another glimpse into her nostalgic soundscape and glamorous vintage aesthetic.
With a gentle sound of tweeting, you’re immediately placed into Aimee Fatale’s sepia-tinted world of heartbreak and melancholy, featuring introspective lyricism and ethereal vocals – ‘why don’t you remember the way you held me tight / and the way you kissed me in the morning light?’
Despite the song’s topic of loneliness, this track is surprisingly upbeat, with shimmering synths and a punchy drumbeat, aiming to be “disguised as a tropical happy song in the spirit of The Beach Boys”.
‘Summertime Ain’t Easy’ is another refreshingly unique offering from the retro-inspired Aimee Fatale – a track you can dance and cry to.
