‘Laugh Track’ is the hypnotically ripping new single from proud indie rock band Lip Filler ahead of their upcoming April tour
Between the angsty guitars and gentle lyrics, the defining theme in ‘Laugh Track,’ the new single from London’s Lip Filler, is raw, unfiltered emotion displayed through truly authentic passion.
Dense, blaring instrumentation instantly hits the listener like a ton of bricks and yet goes on to remain accessibly catchy, the introductory jagged guitar hook becoming a pleasant earworm. Vocalist George Tucker’s painfully powerful lyrics are a highlight of the cut, juxtaposing perfectly with the raucous and occasionally glitched wall of noise behind him that creates an elegant harmony of intentionally crafted contrast.
Lip Filler chose to record the song to tape in an effort to focus on quality performance, an uncommon but respectable choice that exemplifies the outfit’s pursuit of experimentation and heart-on-the-sleeve attitude. It shows an impressive balance between the freedom and creativity of recorded music and a passion for performance that is sought after in modern indie.
