London-based indie rock band Lip Filler release hypnotic single ‘Leeches,’ a companion to their previous single ‘Tricky’

With a moody, rumbling instrumentation and vocals that demonstrate agility and scope, Lip
Fillerโ€™s
newest release, โ€˜Leechesโ€™ feels like a cathartic release for the band.

Blending emotionally-laden lyrics with pining, angsty vocals, lead singer George Tucker joins
a complicated, busy sonic atmosphere. Mixing this with a gritty post-punk, pseudo-rap lyrical
break, โ€˜Leechesโ€™ transcends beyond simply being an angry track.

Instead, the tone feels psychologically complex, conveying a chaotic mess of feelings and
experiences. Tucker suggested that this song was about someone who โ€œlost control of the
wheelโ€.

Almost therapeutic to listen to, โ€˜Leechesโ€™ takes you through the rises and falls of the human
experience: starting rhythmic and volatile, becoming explosive and finally fading out to a more
mellow end. It feels somehow both introspective and destructive, making for a very powerful
listen.

Lip Filler has hinted that โ€˜Leechesโ€™ is just the start, with the band working on a more complete
new project this year. If this song is an indication of what we can expect from their new work, we
are in for a treat.
