London band Lip Filler return with the announcement of their new EP ‘witchescrew‘ and share genre-bending new single ‘followup’
Following support slots with O. and Master Peace, indie rock band Lip Filler announced yesterday that their new EP ‘witchescrew,’ will be out on 24th May via Chess Club Records.
Following previous single is the conveniently titled ‘followup,’ which merges indie, noise and punk. Over a menacing guitar line sit equally menacing distorted vocals, before the track opens up into a glitchy, catchy and melancholic party.
One of the most addictive aspects of the track are its different vocalists; swaying from nonchalant spoken rap to indie hooks to shouty punk, you never know quite where Lip Filler are taking you. Equally interesting is the instrumental, which features clean guitar lines, moments of intense distortion and a driving drum beat. Glitchy synth effects add a fun unexpected texture.
With several shows coming up and the release of the ‘witchescrew’ EP on the horizon, Lip Filler should be quickly climbing your list of most anticipated releases of the year.
‘witchescrew’ is out on 24th May via Chess Club Records.
