Cheddar based 4-piece Snake in the Footspa drop ’18,’ a textbook indie second single full of summer tones and jangling guitars
After gigging in and around Somerset and Bristol, Snake In The Footspa are finally releasing long awaited singles to the satisfaction of their fans. With producer Matt Terry (Wunderhorse, The Hunna) at their helm , their latest single ‘18’, weaves and hones on what the band does best: producing simple but evocative tracks that course you through the same impassioned feelings as those of the four that are performing them.
’18’ feels like the perfect choice for a single release – a coming-of-age song about falling for someone, marking the process “as a long demonstration” and “in a new realisation there is so much more to say.” Guitars intertwine, their tones humming with summer, perfectly mixed with Zak Andersons voice, refreshingly evocative and impassioned in all the right points.
With the band releasing attention-grabbing socials, winning battle of the bands in Bristol and hopefully set to break into the London scene, Snake in the Footspa are definitely ones to watch.
As a Somerset man myself, this band, their ethos, live shows and their music reeks of Somerset (no not manure), of a county that has so much talent hidden behind the dips and dells of the Mendips or in the chasm of Cheddar Gorge.
