Following support slots with The Last Dinner Party, folk newcomers The Slow Country drop their debut single

Imagine a mix of Fleetwood Mac and Nick Cave. Exciting, right? Now stop imagining and look no further than โ€˜Walking Songโ€™, the debut single from up-and-coming folk rockers The Slow Country. After a highly successful 2024, supporting The Last Dinner Party, Mandrake Handshake, and more on tour, The Slow Country have finally opened the gates to their unique style.ย ย

The lyrics in this song are brilliantly used to build their world; the narrator is walking through what seems like a dream from the symbolism and intriguing sound behind it all. Noises such as the plucking of the guitar in the background and the change of vocalists feed you the image and feeling of this walk which contrasts itself with both gothic and vibrant moments.ย

There isnโ€™t a moment within this song where you’ll lose interest; it’s not easy to produce a 5-minute debut track which goes against the mainstream whilst still captivating each listener.ย Through only one song, the band will have many awaiting more from them, and if they keep up this standard, the only way is up!ย
