Crescent release drop expansive ‘Milogather Parts 1 and 2′, showcasing their ever evolving sound

As the modern world grapples with its identity the feeling for nostalgia has never been stronger. Retrospective is in and artists across multiple fields are looking backwards to find the new sound. One said artist that is harnessing the sultry sounds of the 60’s and 70’s is Hartlepool’s Crescent. Like all great bands they formed during their formative teenage years whilst at college. Brought together by a love of blues soaked psychedelia and atmospheric soundscapes.

Recently, the band released a two part single ‘Milogather Parts 1 and 2′, an ever expanding duo that brings forward a wave of sounds that transcend through the psych-rock universe. ‘Milogather Pt 1’ dances eloquently with the opening guitar that quickly expands into the powerful vocals from Millie Jones. As mentioned, it is a retrospective sound that is layered in velvety guitar licks, strong vocals and hard-hitting percussion. Truly, blending the greatest elements from the psych genre drawing influence from its golden age.

‘Milogather Pt 2’ delves deeper into the darker elements of the psych world, reminiscent of Jefferson Airplane. Crunching guitar comes cascading down towards the listener whilst Millie’s vocals rain thunder upon the listener. A dark, ritualistic essence is felt throughout the 7 minute onslaught. It’s a true boasting of the bands range and drive to explore their sound. This is a band that wants to push their own musicianship to the edge and push the genre in new territories.
