Dogviolet step above their peers with striking new single ‘Daisy Crowns’

Dogviolet came to be in 2022 but this isn’t where the creative partnership between Founders Naz Toorabally and Ella Patenall started. Their journey began back when they were in Year 10 English class and they’ve not looked back since. Since Dogviolet came to be in 2022 when the pair were joined by Lauren Allpress (drums) and Margot Cintract (bass)ย they’ve had the pleasure of supporting Heartworms, The Wedding Present, and L.A. Witch (to name a few). They’re a band intent on carving out their space in London’s alternative scene. With as sound as commanding as theirs it’s hard not to move aside and let them flourish.

Their latest cut ‘Daisy Crowns’ boasts the bands ability to harness a darker tone throughout their music yet still surround the listener in a lush soundscape. The track opens with soft, subtle strokes of the guitar that carve out a space for the mesmerising vocals that are near spellbinding. The tempo builds throughout and as we get to the 2 minute (ish) mark the track bellows to life, the vocals grow into a whirlwind whilst the cacophony of percussion and guitar explodes. It’s a near overwhelming sound that is controlled with masterful ease by the band.

‘Daisy Crowns’ is a rollercoaster of a track that never sits still which makes it an incredibly exciting ride. We may only be a few singles in to Dogviolet’ career but they’re standing tall and above many of their peers in the scene.
