The Scottish neo psych pop artist Gurry Wurry shares lead track from his sophomore album ‘Happy For Now’
Gurry Wurry carries a sound that is truly unique, blending Scottish folk elements with a woozy Californian psych-pop sound. It’s a true mismatch of a sound that creates something utterly wonderful and daringly infectious, as well as inventive. The past few months has seen the Scottish artist release a variety of singles such as ‘Hairline’, ‘Treason’, and ‘Haunt Me’, all of which culminted towards the final single ‘Singin (When The Truck Hits)’ and the sophomore album ‘Happy For Now’.
‘Singing (When The Truck Hits)’ opens the album and acts as a perfect start for what is a collection of sonically upbeat yet lyrically pensive tracks. The track opens with a strange yet alluring synth sound that quickly escalates and opens up for the off-kilter vocals of Gurry Wurry to breeze through. The sharp angular guitars bounce off the strange synths, creating a real clash of sounds that tickle the ears and boasts the simple, yet bold approach to songwriting on display.
