HMLTD announce new album ‘FANGS,’ out on 23rd October, and share single ‘I Used To Ride In Limousines’ 

HMLTD have announced the release of their new album ‘FANGS‘ on October 23^rd via Lucky Number. As well as releasing the fantastic lead single ‘I Used To Ride In Limousines,’ the band have announced a show on 4^th March at Village Underground.

HMLTD claim ‘FANGS‘ is ÜberGöth; a maximalist intensification of sounds associated with gothic culture. Diverting from the sonic signature of 2023’s ‘The Worm,‘ ‘FANGS‘ appropriates sounds akin to Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails, and European hardcore. There is a vampiric theme throughout lyrically, apparently “a reflection to a culture that – like a Vampire – has lost its own”. 

Lead single ‘I Used To Ride In Limousines’ instrumental centres on a guitar – heavily compressed and pitch-shifted down. Vocalist Spychalski plays with the parameters of failure and success endowed unto us by contemporary society. With his typical batshit grain, he sings: “I make no discrimination, between the crippled and the lame, between those with and without nation, between anonymity and fame” that speaks back to a society who’s imposition of artificial ideals not only grinds us down, but is rendered naturalistic.  

In an industry where risk is discouraged, HMLTD consistently transgress. I can’t wait to hear the new album and how it translates to a live setting.
