Ahead of their new EP ‘Blast Off,’ out on 10th April, Dublin indie quartet Hotgirl drop new single ‘Sisyphus’
Hotgirl are preparing for their new EP, ‘Blast Off’, due to be released on the 10th of April via Cartoon Records, and their new single ‘Sisyphus’ is proof that it won’t be a crash landing for the Dublin quartet.
With inspiration from 90’s grunge to shoegaze and more recent indie-rock, ‘Sisyphus’ is an anthem for those growing weary of other people’s repeated negative behaviour, the chorus flippantly calling the offenders out: ‘why you always so unhappy? / ‘you should try getting over yourself’.
The catchy bassline, blunt lyrics and Ashley Abbedeen’s bold and brazen vocals makes for an empowering song to listen to when you’ve had enough of your ex, sister, friend, boyfriend or all of the above. They are set to play some upcoming shows to celebrate the EP, alongside supports with Fat Dog and Lambrini Girls.
EP ‘Blast Off’ is out on 10th April via Cartoon Records.
