Jack Simchak, a young singer songwriter and producer, is showing a lot of promise through his latest single ‘Tonight’. The New York based indiehead showcases his aural ability to recreate and sounds and synths of the 1980’s, a period of music in which we all know and love. Capturing the harmonies and melodies of the likes of Joy Division and The Smiths, Simchak’s track of lust and rebellious lyrics is a testament to what is in store for this upcoming musician.

The track creates a perfect loop from the end and back to the beginning, questioning its variation and development throughout. He has sculpted each instrument, from the phase electric guitar to the timbre of the synth, to match Joy Division’s style. So close in fact that even the single artwork upholds similarity to Division’s ‘Unknown Pleasures’, but in the words of The Smiths “What Difference Does It Make?”
