After teasing her album for a little while now, Jade Bird has now confirmed the release date for her new album ‘Different Kinds Of Light’ which will come out on August 13th. From the album, Jade has already released tracks ‘Headstart’ and ‘Houdini’ at the end of 2020. In more recent times, Jade’s latest single ‘Open up the heavens’ was play-listed on BBC Radio 1.

The majority of Jade’s album was created and recorded at the famous RCA Studios in Nashville. Produced by Dave Cobb who has worked with the likes of John Prine and Lady Gaga, ‘Different Kinds Of Light’ has given the British artist an opportunity to immerse herself within a community of American songwriters and artists. This includes the likes of Jason Isbell, Sheryl Crow, and Jade’s friend and collaborator, Brandi Carlile.

Jade spoke about her album “‘Different Kinds of Light’ at its most basic is about falling in love and at its most complex, the chaos of trying to get away from your past.” Before going on to say “This record started in Japan, a small getaway from a busy year. We took it to Mexico, to Nashville and to upstate New York adding pieces of songs along the way until it became the different phases of who I am.”

Jade has also released an atmospheric video for the title track of the album which you can watch here:

As for the album tour, Jade has shared details for the 2022 UK tour including dates in London, Cardiff, and Bristol. You can also pre-order ‘Different Kinds OfLight’ here.
