Music journalist and photographer based in Cardiff (for now). Just trying to write about music that moves me in someway. If you do wish to find me though, Iโ€™ll usually be tucked away listening to music, talking to an animal on the street like a modern day Snow White or at a gig somewhere!

After what has felt like an eternity โ€“ a full two years away from the spotlight, in fact โ€“ global superstar Lewis Capaldi is not just back; heโ€™s back with a vengeance, and frankly, a renewed sense of purpose thatโ€™s deeply moving. Heโ€™s back in the charts with his new single โ€˜Surviveโ€™, back in the headlines after his emotional, surprise return to Glastonbury Festival this past weekend and come this September, heโ€™s coming back to arenas across the UK and Ireland for a tour that promises to be nothing short of emotionally charged.

Lewis Capaldi made his grand return on the Friday afternoon of Glastonbury, stepping out onto the sun-soaked Pyramid stage, for a half an hour set and led with his biggest hits, that has me still reaching for the tissues if I think about it too much. โ€œSecond timeโ€™s a charm on this one,โ€ Lewis candidly told the adoring crowd. โ€œI just wanted to come and finish what I couldnโ€™t last time.โ€ And finish it he empathetically did. His soaring vocals guided thousands through his classics, before showcasing a powerful first live performance of โ€˜Surviveโ€™. Although it was only a half an hour set, I have never felt more moved and honestly, I think it will be something Iโ€™ll be talking about for a long time โ€ฆ truly there must not have been a dry eye in the house (field).

The new track โ€˜Surviveโ€™, which landed softly on streaming services a few days ago, sees Lewis reunite with close collaborator Romans, the genius behind his global hit โ€˜Someone You Lovedโ€™. โ€˜Surviveโ€™ is truly a track that feels incredibly poignant given his journey. It isnโ€™t just a new song โ€ฆ itโ€™s proof that even in the darkest moments, thereโ€™s still incredible strength in showing up; showing up for yourself, for those you love and everything else in between.

Hot on the heels of this triumphant comeback, Lewis has officially announced a UK & Ireland Arena Tour for September 2025. Mark your calendars and set numerous alarms as heโ€™s hitting: Sheffield, Aberdeen, Glasgow, London (including two nights at The O2!), Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff and Dublin. Trust me, you wonโ€™t want to miss this, but please donโ€™t forget your packets of tissues if you do decide to attend!

After weathering the kind of storm that few could truly prepare for, Lewis Capaldi emerges as the epitome of resilience โ€“ when you get knocked down, you dust yourself off and get back up again.

For anyone who has felt bruised or battled their own storms, his return is a powerful beacon of hope and speaking as someone who has admired his journey, I truly couldnโ€™t be more thrilled or prouder of him.

Pre-sale for Lewis Capaldi‘s September tour starts 8th July at 9.00am. General sale starts 10th July at 9.00am.
