Die Twice kick off their 3-week residency at Hackney’s Mascara Bar, ahead of their debut EP ‘Accept Me Like A Lie’

Tucked away in a red, black and white sweat box in Hackney, Die Twice kicked off their three week residency at Mascara Bar with a sold-out show. Formed as students in Exeter in 2022, the fresh-faced band has since gained a cult following and a reputation for a captivating live show.

In spite of the cramped stage, Die Twice provided forty minutes of energetic live music with menacing instrumentals that were surprisingly tight for musicians so young.

Dripping in sweat and with a vibrating jaw, Olly Bayton’s vocals were hypnotising, seeped in drama and intensity for ‘Wishbone’, released just last week. A captivating live debut for this track, the performance ended in another loud and stormy instrumental, a feature which is steadily becoming Die Twice’s trademark.

With a surprise guest appearance from up-and-comer Nieve Ella, wine in hand, the band performed a bluesy and passionate cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Black Magic Woman’, ending the night on a high.

After showcasing their hair-raising guitar solos and Bayton’s mesmerising vocals, Die Twice started off their three week residency with a bang, demonstrating that with just a few more tools to their disposable, they could be unstoppable.

Debut EP ‘Accept Me Like A Lie’ is out on 27th May 2026.
