Electronic, pop and alternative pioneers Metronomy announce Greatest Hits & BBC Sessions collections releasing September 5th

Metronomy have announced they will be releasing two collections to celebrate their 20 years of making music. Since their formation in 1999 by musician and producer Joseph Mount, the band have long been at the forefront of electronic music, with many of their tracks leaning into pop and alternative rock too.

Fans will have the opportunity to listen to Metronomyโ€™s ‘Greatest Hits‘ and previously unreleased BBC studio recordings from 2009-2019, titled ‘BBC Sessions‘. Both collections will be releasing on September 5th.

Their ‘Greatest Hits‘ record will feature well-known tracks from their seven studio LPโ€™s. The ‘BBC Sessions‘ collection will feature 17 previously unreleased live versions of Metronomy tracks, including ‘On Dancefloors‘ and ‘The Look‘ which were recorded in 2009 & 2011 respectively and are out now.

Announcing the two collections on Instagram Metronomy wrote, โ€˜This isnโ€™t the end, just the beginningโ€ฆI mean the beginning of the endโ€ฆโ€™

Metronomy have had a string of successful albums, including 2011โ€™s โ€˜The English Rivieraโ€™ which was nominated for the Mercury Prize for Album of the Year. They continue to be a leading force in music for their visual aesthetics, inventive production techniques and energetic live shows. Both collections incorporate elements of design from Metronomyโ€™s previous albums and will be available in multiple formats, including a coloured special edition on CD and vinyl.

Metronomyโ€™s ‘Greatest Hits‘ & ‘BBC Sessions‘ will be released on September 5th via Because Music.
