2020 was set to be a belter, live music was on the up and the South-West was finally seeing big names like Michael Kiwanuka. The Mercury Prize Award (2020) nominee was set to grace the stage of Plymouth Pavillions on November 21st . However, the Covid-19 crisis put an end to that (along with many other shows) due to the impossible task of maintaining everyone’s safety.
However, the lovely folks at SW1 and Michael’s team have been working hard at making it still happen and the date has been rescheduled. Michael will be heading to Plymouth on Friday 2nd April 2021.
Speaking on the reschedule Michael said, “UK folks, with respect to and in line with the Covid guidelines we have had to push the tour back to next year.
Adding, “If you’ve bought a ticket, it will remain valid so keep a hold of it. Really missing playing live for you and can’t wait to get back out on the road to pick up where we left off!”
It’s been a dark few months for the arts during this pandemic but news such as this is signs there is light at the end of the tunnel. Be sure to support the music industry in this trying time, keep your tickets, buy bands merch and records and support your local scene.
