Moonroof come through with an indie banger that is oozing in nonchalonce and cool
The indie band from Philadelphia Moonroof encapsulate a sound that is nostalgic of the early 2000’s indie-pop scene. However, it cuts a modern edge with a clear influence from the likes of The 1975 and The Killers. The bands recent release ‘Bottle It Up’ is a jangly, free-flowing, and expansive release that boasts their influences as well as their own individualism.
‘Bottle It Up’ opens with highly string guitar that drives the song forward, all the while, room filling percussion hammers away, creating a delightful contrast of subtle and bombastic. The vocals breeze through with an almost Jonas Brothers air, creating a sound that sits in indie but is undeniably American.
Speaking on the track the band explain “we wanted to write about not being afraid to show emotions, a lot of males sometime face that struggle or feel they need to stay tough but we wanted to point out that if you bottle things up it could be more damaging to internalize those emotions/feelings.”
