Beabadoobee drops new single ‘Ever Seen’, the third ahead of her upcoming album, ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’, out on 16th August

Beabadobee is back with her latest single Ever Seen, complete with a video shot in Japan. This marks the third release for the upcoming album, ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves‘, out Friday 16th August via Dirty Hit.

If you’re not familiar with Beabadobee (although Iโ€™m not sure I know anyone who isnโ€™t), her cool and easy indie pop sways and pulls like an ocean tide. Ever Seen is much the same. It’s sweet and sweeping, a euphoric ballad that seems to soar over an expansive landscape. This is hardly surprising when you find out that the single was originally intended to be pure country, and written while the Filipino-British songstress was on the road with Taylor Swift.ย

The song, however became something broader, and much more Bea. The zig-zagging strings begin with a twang before expanding into a kind of electronic symphony. The percussion grows from the tiniest seed into a release that blossoms. The song feels like summer love; you are warmed by a sun that may not be there while listening to it.ย

The lyrics are simple and concise. Beabadoobee “spent some time waiting” for a face to come into her life, and now that she has it, they have the prettiest eyes sheโ€™s ever seen. For Bea, the single captures the feelings of coming up at Glastonbury โ€“ the elation, the thudding of drums drifting over on the wind, the endless chaotic possibilities.

And, speaking of Glastonbury, Beabadoobee will be performing at All Points East and Reading and Leeds, before embarking on tour later this year. To prepare, listen to the single, alongside ‘Take a Bite‘ and ‘Coming Home‘. Experience the new sound that Bea describes is about “becoming a woman.”
