North-London art-rock 11-piece audiovisual group Fake Turins drop new single Built To Touch, an atmospheric, dreamy and complex new track

There are a lot of elements at play in Fake Turinsmusic. Not only are there a lot of members contributing to their music, the genres, instruments and influences that they draw from are wide ranging too. Ahead of their first UK headline tour, they recently toured with the equally dynamic Opus Kink.

Built To Touch’ is a perfect example of Fake Turins’ busy, but never overcrowded, sound. There is a lovely blend of electronic and acoustic, with the dreamy synths and bass melding with the horns. The horns are a highlight of the track; they have a life of their own and their unexpected flurries are a surprise that gives the track a freshness.

The track is all about the sound of these many elements coming together and the gorgeous atmosphere it creates. Dominic Rose’s vocals are versatile, with both sung vocals and spoken vocals reminding you of Hot Chip and Squid respectively. The production has a lush cleanness that perfectly compliments the other elements, again contributing to the overall atmosphere.

Built To Touch’ lives up to its name; it is a tactile track, with new elements for you to feel for on each listen and dream-like production that draws you deeper inside their sound on each listen.
