Brighton art-rock 7-piece Ideal Living drop gothic and exhilarating new single ‘Loving & Still‘, ahead of UK tour dates
‘Loving & Still‘ is a track with serious bite: high octane art-rock with churning vocals, gritty guitar tones and cut through with satisfying brass instrumentation. Interwoven with the rusty textures of gothicism, the track builds to release the frustration of the search for meaning in a world without.
In frontman Billy Marsh’s words, ‘Loving & Still‘ laments on the ‘idea that you need to achieve a lot by the time you’re 30’, describing it as ‘the opposite of a love letter’ – a frustration directed both inwards and outwards, coalescing into the energy that fuels the song and heard in strong push and pull between sound and silence of the trumpet marching the song into its final chorus.
Ideal Living will be playing at Mutations Festival in their home turf, Brighton, on November 9th, along with a generous helping of shows around the country (below).
