Khruangbin drop new single ‘May Ninth‘ from their upcoming album ‘A La Sala’, out on 5th April via Dead Oceans
‘May Ninth‘ is potently reminiscent of Khruangbin’s earlier work with a certain refinement and attention to melody. The laid back guitar lines create a soothing melancholy alongside the wistful vocals but, despite the lightness of the track, the signature Khruangbin groove remains.
The band’s magic is rooted in their chemistry and playing, managing to make complicated ideas feel simple. This is evident through the bird sounds and lyrical nature imagery in ‘May Ninth‘, bringing a sense of hope with the change in season.
Khruangbin consistently deliver heartfelt inspired music whilst sticking with minimalistic arrangements and sound palettes – this new single is no different and, if anything, proves they are becoming more and more masterful at their craft.
It’s no surprise that their upcoming international tour is selling fast with new dates added in the US. They will be returning to the UK at Latitude Festival this summer.
